HILLACIOUS INVITIATIONAL SET TO RUN SATURDAY

Brenham High School cross country is hosting it's annual Brenham Hillacious Cross Country Invitational this weekend and this will be the biggest turnout in the history of the event.  Junior High races will be held on the BHS campus starting at 5:00 on Friday afternoon.  The High School Invitational will start at 8:00 on Saturday morning.

Teams from all across the state are coming to test themselves on "The Toughest Course in Texas."  Over 2100 runners registered for the two day meet. Some of the ranked teams include The Woodlands boys (#3 US, #1 Texas 6A), Seven Lakes Boys (#5 Texas 6A), Cinco Ranch Girls (#4 Texas 6A), and Cy-Woods Girls (#7 Texas 6A).  Some of the state-ranked private schools attending are Dallas Ursuline Girls (#1 Texas), St. Agnes Girls (#2 Texas), St. John's Boys (#4 Texas), and St. Thomas Boys (#6 Texas).

At the conclusion of the High School races on Saturday, there will be an Open 2 Mile race.  The Open race begins at 10:30 AM.  It is for all ages and there is no registration fee.  Runners just come to the starting line by 10:30.  The Open race usually has 200+ runners and includes high schoolers, younger runners, coaches, parents, and anyone else looking to try out the hilly 2 mile course.

The meet will happen rain or shine.  We will delay for lightning.
