Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church of Brenham has taken a stance against the administration’s controversial immigration policies.

The church says it is sending a letter to city, county and state officials, which condemns the separation of immigrant families at the border.  The letter also reads that the government “has exhibited that it is unable to reliably return many of these children to their parents in a timely fashion”.

Deacon Cecil Webster says he believes churches and the public need to come together in order to change policies.

Webster says this is a divisive issue, but he believes it shouldn’t be.

Webster hopes that many in the community will join them in their movement.

Some citizens of Brenham have already expressed disapproval with the current administration’s policies on immigration.  Almost 100 people gathered in downtown Brenham on June 30th to protest, as part of a nation-wide rally.

  1. And it’s biased political actions by a Church that require comment or folks start to think they’ve gained ground in some way for the regressive left or that they’ve somehow obtained the authority to speak for me and others. I’m sure progressives would have never thought that the Johnson amendment could possibly be used against them.

We’ve had the same increasingly lax immigration laws for decades now; we’re just enforcing them finally. The only controversy that exists now is between those that prefer laws, taxes that pay for tax payer services and national sovereignty to those that prefer lawlessness, open borders, and taxes used to pay for the welfare of non citizens.

More power to you if you want to give to charity and help the poor, keep in mind that always has to be given freely and without an expectation of acknowledgement. That’s not the way the secular left does charity though. For them, charity is a mandate, has your name attached and is earmarked by much more learned authority than you, the common man.

Does a family leave it’s doors open for the destitute criminal to come help themselves to whatever they need? Or does the family have an expectation that the laws are made to keep their home safe from robbery and their family free from assault? Their is no difference between your house and your country, they’re both your home. No one in my house is going to tell me that I need to leave my door open so that I can be robbed and my children raped and that I need to make the future any harder for my children.

Secondly, does a family (lets say the family is representative of our country) of 5 members (population) take in two destitute thieves (those are rep. of illegal aliens) for a household of now seven. They’re not invited, the criminals just decided to take up residence in your living room since you don’t sleep there. Still, the head of household decides they can stay while. The household income was above the poverty rate for a family of 5 at $37,000. With 7, the family is now well into poverty. The family leadership would have sold the family into poverty and debt to make ends meet. The children will now be neglected and even abused by preferences that choose the thieves over the children. All because the head of household lacked the knowledge and spiritual understanding to curb a foolish heart. Otherwise, the family would have qualified for reduced lunch (instead of free lunch) at public school but still could have sent their kids to school with a PBJ, banana, chips and water instead of taking the handout. The family would have continued to pay property taxes, supported the community, and given a small amount to charity at Church (just as a country provides services its citizens and gives tax dollars to foreign aid). Proverbs gives a very vivid description of the fool over many verses and a man that would do this to his family would definately be a fool.

Read the “Immigration Crisis” by Dr James Hoffmeier for a Biblical view on immigration.

  2. Why is this a problem. Your former Perez did the same thing In all truth he signed it into law. Want to complain your over 2 years late. What is it the people today don’t understand. There is a law if they want to come in fine do it at the gate not the river.

  3. Why don’t they address the fact that 80% of minors coming across do so without parents? Who do you return those to? What about the human traffickers posing as parents or “guardians”? Do you just return the children back to them? Mt. Rose was silent while this was happening during the previous administration. It’s now a way to score cheap political points without addressing what is really going on and how our open borders are a cover for human trafficking.

  4. Hmm… looks to me like Cecil Webster (a democrat) running for office (again) trying to gain traction (for open borders and more crime) and using a church while he’s at it

  5. They are so blind that they can’t see, these very illegals take jobs from their sons and daughters.

  6. Thanks to our Lord for giving us strong community leaders who will stand up for injustice and have the spine to publicly state their opposition. Many more in this county should follow their example. Thanks to Mt. Rose and all these real men for their courage, God bless them, and may they know they have many, many supporters in this community who will also soon be heard thru the power of their vote.
